I first began working in Sun City as a firefighter in September of 1975. After serving as a Lieutenant, Captain and District Chief I was appointed Fire Chief in 1989. Today, fifteen years later, I am proud to welcome you to our Sun City Fire Department Internet website. In these pages you will have the opportunity to review and learn more about our history, fire and emergency medical service programs, community education, and personnel.
The Sun City Fire Department and District has a staff of over eighty people that serve as elected Fire District officials, fire fighters, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, officers, inspectors, volunteers and office staff. Each individual, paid and volunteer alike, works diligently year round to answer the more than 10,000 emergency calls this department responds to annually. I thank each and every member of our organization who serves this Department professionally with honor, strength and compassion.
The services extended to our local community and our accomplishments as a Fire Department would not be possible without the support of our Fire District Board Chairman, the Board Members, and citizens of the Sun City, Youngtown and Citrus Point. Without this continued support we would not be able to carry out our mission. We provide our customers, the residents, visitors and businesses, with the highest level of protection and prevention against loss of life and property. We recognize that our department is an integral part of the community and are sensitive and responsive to neighborhood needs and priorities.
Thank you for your interest and support of our department. Please remember to install and maintain a smoke detector, practice fire safety at home and work, and learn CPR.
Sincerely,
James A. Sebert
Fire Chief
