Fire Apparatus
Sun City Fire District
The Pierce Aerial 100’ Platform unit (bottom center) is unique in that it doubles as a water pumper. Most units such as this are unable to provide this feature giving the Sun City Fire District a distinct advantage towards saving lives while battling critical fires. The unit is staffed by:
- 1 Captain
- 2 Engineers
- 1 Firefighter
While all other response units are staffed by:
- 1 Captain
- 1 Engineer
- 2 Firefighters
Of these four personnel, at least two are certified Paramedics. This is key since not all districts or departments in the Greater Phoenix Valley have the capacity to support this. This is certainly advantageous.
